Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Screening
It is common for parents to question whether their children are
showing normal levels of activity and attention, or if these behaviors
require a professional assessment. Increasingly, the medical field
is recognizing that ADHD does not always just go away as the child
gets older. In fact, some of the difficulties adults face at home
or the office may be due to untreated adult ADHD.
As a separate service, Dr. Brooks offers ADHD screening for adults
and children 5 years and older. The screening, which takes just
over an hour, can begin to answer questions and help you decide
the best step to take next. You’ll take a short computerized test,
complete questionnaires, and one face-to-face session. After the
evaluation, you’ll get feedback and a written report that includes
a clinical diagnosis and, if necessary, referrals to qualified
professionals.
Fee: $250.– includes testing, feedback
session, and report.
Although Dr. Brooks does not bill insurance for this service,
she will provide you with documentation and you may seek reimbursement
from your insurance company if you choose to. Most insurance plans
do not cover this service.
